What an amazing first week!! It was so great to see all of our VPE students back in the building! We kicked off the week reviewing the HAWK Way and boy did our students rock it out! They did a fantastic job with being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn!

Need To Know….

New Valley Park Website and App: We're thrilled to announce the new app for Valley Park School District! It's everything Valley Park School District , in your pocket. With the new app, you can access documents, events, news updates, and even emergency notifications. 

*** We will now be pushing out our weekly newsletters on the NEW District website and App under the news tab. You can also easily access the newsletter by going to the website https://www.vpschools.org/vpesnews

Printable VPE/ECC Calendar: Attached is the printed calendar that will be attached to the student/parent handbook.

VPE/ ECC Google Calendar: If you would like to add the VPE and ECC google calendar to your google you can click on this and in the bottom right corner you will see a button that has a “+ Google calendar” We will be updating this calendar as events and dates arise. This will be the most accurate calendar. 

Student Handbook: Here is the student/ parent handbook. Please look over it with your child and review the HAWK way expectations. A copy is also being sent home today with your child. 

Summer Reading Challenge: Students don’t forget to turn in your summer Reading and Math challenge packet by August 31st

Access to Online Resource for Valley Park Students: Valley Park is excited to be using ClassLink to house all district approved online resources for our students.  ClassLink securely allows our learners to have  single sign on access to online resources.  More information will be coming home soon regarding how students can access these resources from home. 

MAP Scores will be mailed home September 29th.

Car Tags: If you are utilizing parent pick up your car tag needs to be displayed and easily visible to the Valley Park Staff. This will help for a quick and easy drop off and pick up. It also ensures that our students and staff are able to safely get to their cars. If you do not have a car tag, you can complete this google form or reach out to kmaxwell@vpschools.org and request one. Beginning on August 30th, if you do not have a car tag, you will be redirected to the main office to get one printed and pick up your child. 

School start and end times for the 2023-2024 school year:

  • 8:15-3:15 for all K-5th grade students

  • 8:30-11:15 Pre-school Half Day students

  • 12:00-3:00 Pre-school Half Day students

  • 8:30-3:00 Pre-school Full Day students

Bus Information: Bus stops and bus pick-up and drop-off times will be available on your InfiniteCampus parent portal. If you have any questions, contact Katie Henderson at 636.923.3556.

Student Health Forms: Parents if you have not completed your child’s student health form please do so and turn it into the nurse. Here is a copy you can print off. If you are unable to print one you can contact the nurses office and they will send one home with your child. 

Employment Opportunity: We currently have a Cafeteria/ Recess Supervisor position opening. If you are interested in working with the amazing staff and students at VPE please fill out the application on our website

Title One: Valley Park Elementary is a Title 1 school. Therefore, we have a schoolwide program that is comprehensive and designed to ensure that all students, particularly those who are low-achieving, demonstrate proficient and advanced levels of achievement on State academics achievement standards. This program includes our goals and strategies to address and monitor our goals. Also included in this program is our Parent, Family, and Student Engagement Plan which you can view here: Valley Park Elementary School Parent, Family, Student Engagement Plan. If you have any questions, please call the office to speak to a principal. 

Visitor Management System: Valley Park School District welcomes parents and other community members into schools for special events, meetings, tours, and other occasions. However, keeping students and staff safe at school is something we take very seriously. To increase security at all our school buildings, we have been utilizing the Hall Pass Visitors Management System to track visitors. The system is simple and easy to use. The only thing you need is a government-issued ID. 

VPSD Care Closet: If your family is in need of any clothing, shoes, school supplies, etc. we would love to help! We have a Valley Park Care Closet, located here on out campus, to serve your family and help provide you with the items you need. The care closet includes: clothing, shoes, personal care items, backpacks, coats/hats/gloves, school supplies, and much more. If you are in need of any of the items listed above, please feel free to reach out to your child’s counselor or complete this form and a counselor will reach out to you.

Y-Care: If you are interested in Y-Care before and after school care for your Kdg-5th grade student, please contact Cal Snare at 314.965.9622. Y-Care is available in our building from 6:30am-6:00pm.

Free and Reduced Lunch: Free & Reduced Lunch Forms It's necessary for families to fill out the Free and Reduced Meal forms. Don't think you'll qualify? Here are some other reasons to fill out the application for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program.

  • School Funding: Increased funding for schools to ensure that students receive the support they need for a holistic, empowering, limitless education.

  • Athletics and Activities: Reduced fees for sports and activities.

  • College Application Fees: Discounts on fees associated with applying for college, as well as SAT and ACT fees.

  • Technology: Increased technology funds for schools to improve internet access and network services.

  • Access to Grants: Data gathered from meal applications allow access to competitive local, state and federal grants.

  • If those aren't reasons enough, for each family that fills out our Free and Reduced Meal form, Valley Park School District will enter your family into a drawing for a chance to win a $100 gift card. So please fill out a form online or print one and fill it out and turn it into the office. A Note from the Nurse:  A reminder for parents, if your student is not feeling well with the following symptoms, please do not hesitate to keep them home from school:

  • Fever over 100.4 (24hrs without medicine: Tylenol/ibuprofen)

  • Cold symptoms (coughing, sneezing, runny nose, congestion)

  • Stomachache and/or vomiting, Diarrhea (vomiting/diarrhea to stay home 24 hours after vomiting is done)

  • Sore Throat

  • Unexplained Cough/ Shortness of Breath

  • Signs of Conjunctivitis (pinkeye)

  • Signs of Head lice (persistent itching scalp, nits in hair, or lice present)

  • Rash (if present need to be evaluated by physician)

  • Covid precautions as well, follow the Healthy Hawk Way.

Parents As Teachers: If you have a child aged birth to five or know of a friend or family member with children this age, please call for more information on our Parents as Teachers Program. PAT is a parent education and family support program serving families who reside in Valley Park School District. Call 636.923.3689 for more information.

PTO: Mark your calendars for the 2023-2024 PTO meetings. We look forward to your participation! We will hold this year's meetings on Tuesday evenings at 6:30pm.
