The Valley Park School District is thrilled to announce the selection of Josh Ekstrom as our new Director of Facilities, effective September 16, 2024. Josh joins us with 18 years of custodial experience from the Rockwood School District, where he most recently served as Custodial Supervisor. He has successfully led daily operations across multiple buildings, managing a team of over 60 custodians, and has consistently demonstrated expertise in improving operations, overseeing projects, and fostering staff retention.
Josh holds a Master of Science in Management and Leadership and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration. His extensive knowledge in facilities management, floor care, and staff development will be an invaluable asset to our district.
"I am very excited and eager to hit the ground running," Josh shared. "Everyone I’ve met so far has been wonderful and extremely helpful."
In addition, we are excited to welcome Brandon Adkins as our new Lead Maintenance Technician, also starting on September 16. Brandon brings nearly two decades of experience in facilities management, custodial supervision, and mechanical systems from Bettendorf Community School District (IA). He has managed maintenance efforts across a 60-acre facility, with expertise in HVAC, boiler, and chiller systems. Brandon holds certifications in HVAC, Certified Pool Operation, and OSHA safety protocols, and is currently pursuing a B.A. in Supply Chain Management. His hands-on leadership and technical knowledge will greatly benefit our team.
"I feel welcomed, positive, and excited to join the VPSD team," Brandon expressed. "I’m thankful for this opportunity and look forward to contributing to the district."
We are eager to welcome both Josh and Brandon to the Valley Park School District and look forward to their contributions to our community.
